What are Veneers Made From?

Our composite resin veneers are economical and hard wearing, and are ideal for hiding minor flaws in teeth. These veneers can be placed during one visit and will last between four to eight years before they need replacing. Porcelain veneers are made in a dental laboratory and require more than one visit to your dentist. They are more hard wearing and will last ten years or longer, but they are a bit more expensive.

What is the Procedure for a Veneer?

Your dentist may need to shape your teeth prior to placing the veneers through removing a very small amount of tooth structure from the front of the tooth. If you choose a composite veneer then it will be constructed while you wait and you will leave our dental surgery with your new smile. The procedure is slightly different for a porcelain veneer as an impression is taken and sent to the dental laboratory to be made. Your veneer will be fitted and cemented in place at your next visit.

How Do I Look After Dental Veneers?

You can brush and floss your veneers as you would your natural teeth. Good oral care at home and regular check-ups will help prolong the life of your veneers but eventually they will need replacing.
